Penwith District Council

Is this really a good decision? I remember seeing the great publicity that this dog achieved. Nothing to do directly with my work except that it is another example of prats gaining the upper hand. The RNLI along with the RSPCA, PDSA and other previously revered institutions (well at least by me) are bringing themselves into ridicule. More worryingly it may affect fund raising and their respective worthwhile causes.

Top Bloke in my view

Tom BARDSLEY is the type of person that I would love to have about if I got into bother. I read about his exploits yesterday and wondered if he would be named. I'm really pleased he has as firstly he deserves recognition for his bravery and secondly it shuts up some of the supporters of Rangers claiming him as one of the regular law abiding true supporters. The latter type of supporter do exist but the term out of control minority spoiling it for others wears a bit thin with me.

One got community service and the other was given a reprimand !!!

Well I tried not to trot a typical police view on this story but I have failed. I been away for a few days but what a violent week it's been. I cannot comprehend how a young victim can receive such serious injuries and still the perpetrators that were caught got off so lightly. What lesson has been learnt and what lesson have the offenders peers benefited from? Very little I would say, community service and reprimand, pah!
I have to state that I am basing my views on the press and media who I always try to link to so it is hardly an informed view. I'm sure there was strong mitigation put forward.

Arrest read okay until......

I read about the reporter. I don't think that is right as in my mind it influences the "innocent until proven" belief. I just think that it conflicts with the impartiality code of what we are meant to adhere to. I'm certain it was the decision of a junior officer like me - NOT!

We need to toughen up a bit

I don't care what real or imagined perils he faces at home, he should go and go as soon as possible.

Bean counter vs Politicised Police officer

Well I don't know. I don't know the first I don't particularly rate the second. That said I would prefer any type of Police Officer over a civil servant for this role.

Strict HR policies, not just a Police problem,

You have to question the sense of this type of decision. Policy made by those that have little or no contact with the pointy end, in this case customers (real ones not the police label for members of the public). Strict HR Policies now doesn't that sound familiar.

Shall we do something yet?

Or shall we just give one more chance...........?

Don't miss the bit that goes
"A decade ago, Manderson ran over a 12-year-old cyclist as he drove a robbery getaway car."

What about his rights I hear them cry.

I think I'm getting a bit down again. Is society breaking up?
